There’s a new study that says cellphones are ruining your relationships even when the phone is turned off. The fact that it is “there” is the problem so stick your cellphone in your pocket.
The study comes from the University of Essex that found people feel less close to each other when a cellphone is present, even if it s NOT being checked constantly. Hiding a cellphone can improve feelings of closeness, trust and empathy, especially when trying to have a meaningful conversation. We’re so concerned with the outside world these days; people are forgetting who is right in front of them. Between keeping up with Twitter, Facebook and checking emails, those minutes spent in cyberspace could mean loss of a loved one sooner or later.
